Dzoan Cam Van @ Nguyen Thi Dieu

Firstly, this place is hyped by the fact that the owner is a television personality, specialising in cook shows.
Secondly the place was well tucked off the main road, named after the owner, who felt that a food establishment would do well without air conditioning, thus the numerous mosquito bites for the sweet-blooded ones.

A unique, though expensive presentation of food menu using name cards in a name card album

Shrimp filled spring roll

Fried fish/shrimp/crab meat (?), served in fried rice paper bowl

Steamed rice paper spring roll, filled with shrimp

Mango salad, trimmed with basil and coriander leaves, and grilled dried cuttlefish

A unique way of keeping food warm without the use of butane gas. The "fuel" was a block of highly flammable wax, which burned for many long minutes throughout dinner. And it's really hot.

The grilled fish, in a vat of boiling oil garnished by dill and onion stalks

Sweet and sour seafood soup, appetizing, mildly tantalising, highly spiced with ajinomoto

Pork belly meat, cooked in coconut oil and the various condiments that goes with it

Hot pot tofu with minced pork

Now before you get too shocked for words, this meal was for four people, not two.
