Lunch at Mr. The's family home

We had the opportune to visit Mr. The's family home in Ha Tay Province, where he offered to treat us to lunch.

Plucking parsley-mint at his garden, ala Jamie Oliver

A local grape, grown on his frontyard. It is used to be made into Vietnamese wine. Tastes a little like raspberry.

Enroute back up the river

No pictures from our journey downhill. It was too hot, and I was rather exhausted to take photographs.

Apricot, or in Vietnamese, Mo (pronounced "muer").

Mr The trying a new profession at boat rowing

Power of two, making the work easier. However, a little coordination is needed in Teamwork. We're supposed to go straight, not turn in circle...

Ms Hoa getting baked under the sun.

You can imagine the heat in the afteroon sun by the damp spot around my shirt's collar. I was like a cooked lobster.

Brunch break

Brunch break before we start the journey downhill.

Temple in the Cavern

This was what the trip was about.

Devotees crowding under a stalagtite to collect the water droplets. They believe the water is good for their skin.

Views from the cable car, enroute to the Cavern

This is the path that is every visitor must take to get to the temple in the Cavern. Alternatively, hike 3 hours uphill. No thank you.

Vinh, Hieu, The, Son

Giang, Hoa

I really love the greens from up above. So vibrant. And the blue trail below would be the path that the exercise nuts take.
